About Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE)
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education also known as (APSCHE) was established on 20th May, 1988 through State Legislature to promote Higher Education in the State and foresee the development of the same for years to come. APSCHE was set up as per the recommendations of the National Education Policy- 1986 and acts as a coordinating body between the State Government and the University Grants Commission, at the same time works for the improvement of education in the State with perspective preparation. The common duty of the Council to coordinate and determine standards in various institutions of Higher Education with respect to the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission as per the time frame. Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education also formulates the principles based on the guidelines of the Government and acts as an approver and decider for the sanctioning of New Educational Institutions by giving permission keeping in mind the relevant requirements and norms. It also advises the government on determining maintenance grants.
