About Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SRI-VENKATESWARA-VETERNITY-UNIVERSITY)

The establishment of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University was the culmination of efforts during the period, 1955 to 2006 to strengthen   education and services in the fields of Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology and Fishery Science in the State of Andhra Pradesh.  The establishment of three Veterinary Colleges, the first at Rajendranagar during 1946, the second at Bapatla during 1955 and the third at Gannavaram during 1998, paved the way for strengthening Veterinary education in the State.  The Veterinary College at Bapatla was shifted to Tirupati during December, 1957. The College of Fishery Science was started at Muthukur, Nellore Dt. during 1991.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary (SVVU) offers various Undergraduate (UG) programs like B.Sc, B.V.Sc and B.Tech  and Postgraduate (PG) programs such as M.Tech, MS, M.Sc and M.V.Sc along with Ph. D programs in different branches of Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Sciences, to promote farmer oriented and need to be based on research to develop harvest and post-harvest technologies.

The university organizes various entrance examinations, counseling, and personal interview rounds in order to evaluate the Students for admission into different programs.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary Tirupati Undergraduate Admission 2019

SVVU offers Bachelor programs such as Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc.and AH) and B.Tech in Dairy Technology at the UG level. The duration period of the BVSc.and AH programs is of five years whereas the B.Tech and B.F.Sc programs take four years to complete the duration period.

In order to meet the eligibility criteria, a Student needs to score at least 50% marks in 12th (10+2) or intermediate examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects.

Admission to the B.Tech program is done through AP-EAMCET while for the BVSc.and AH and B.F.Sc programs, admission is granted on the basis of merit in the pre-qualifying examination.

The university has a number of different courses to offer at the Postgraduate level, viz. Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc) and Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc). All the PG courses are provided under various specialization subjects with the duration of two years each.

Students seeking admission into any of the Master’s Degree courses must have passed the relevant Bachelor’s Degree examination specified against each course from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University /ANGR Agricultural University or an institution accredited by ICAR/VCI.

Admission to the PG courses is done through a comprehensive Entrance test followed by a counseling round organized by the university.

Sri Venkateswara Veterinary Tirupati Ph.D. Admission 2019

SVVU also offers doctoral level programs which award the Ph.D. degree. The Ph.D. programs are provided in the field of Animal husbandry, Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Sciences. All the Ph.D. courses are offered for a duration of three years.

The Ph.D. courses at SVVU are offered with 19 different specialization subjects. Students who are eligible for the Ph.D. program, need to sit for an entrance test organized by the University and the final merit list will be prepared considering the marks obtained by the Students in the entrance test as well as the previous qualifying examination.
