About Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKUNIVERSITY)
Sri Venkateswara University started as Post Graduate centre in the year 1968. In 1976, the S.V.U. Postgraduate Centre attained autonomous status. The University is named after a patron of learning and the arts, Sri Krishnadevaraya, of the Vijayanagara Empire of the 16th century. Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) is a public university in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, established on July 25, 1981. It is located in rural surroundings in a broad campus of about 500 acres of land. Prof. K. RAMAKRISHNA REDDY assumed charge as Vice Chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur on 11-11-2011. The SK University offers 38 Post Graduate (PG) courses through 28 departments. 11 post graduate courses are being conducted at the P.G. centre, Kurnool through 8 departments.
The University has plentiful scope for development. It includes University Science Instrumentation Centre, Computer Centre, health centre, gymnasium, outdoor stadium, auditorium and adequate space to accommodate departments of studies, laboratories, hostels, and housing for the staff. University also provided students with latest amenities so that they can perform better in the field of knowledge. Moreover training sessions are also conducted in this university so that faculties and students will always stay updated with latest news and technologies.
